  Fred Faltin      
Fred Faltin is Managing Partner of The Faltin Group, which offers strategic consulting in the application of quantitative solutions to a wide range of issues in business management. Fred's skill set centers on aiding senior executives in determining whether and where quantitative methods add value, and in following through to assure successful execution. Fred serves an international clientele based in Europe and Asia, as well as the U.S. Client firms include industry leaders such as Samsung Electronics, Motorola, and Sandvik AB. Most recently, Fred led the team that developed a next-generation Six Sigma curriculum for Motorola-the company that invented Six Sigma. That training is now being rolled out to a new cadre of Motorola Black Belts and Master Black Belts.

Prior to his current role, Fred founded and managed the Strategic Enterprise Technologies laboratory at GE Global Research. In that capacity he and his organization worked with the senior management teams of numerous GE components, implementing advanced analytical and modeling initiatives in capital, service, and manufacturing businesses worldwide. He served on GE's Corporate Supply Chain Council, and as GE Corporate R&D's Information Technology liaison to GE Plastics and NBC. A veteran of GE's Six Sigma Quality initiative, Fred and his staff developed and taught portions of the company's Design for Six Sigma curriculum to its Master Black Belts. Before joining GE, he managed the corporate Applied Statistics group at Air Products and Chemicals, Inc.

Fred received his B.S. in Mathematics from MIT, holds M.S. degrees in both Mathematical Statistics and Operations Research from Cornell University, and is a graduate of GE's management training curriculum. He has published numerous articles, book chapters, and scholarly research on applying quantitative techniques in business contexts, and served on the Editorial Review Board of the Journal of Quality Technology. Fred is a recipient of the Shewell Prize of the American Society for Quality, is a Fellow of the American Statistical Association, and served as Chair of ASA's Quality and Productivity Section.
