  Frank Ball      
Frank Ball has been an independent executive coach and organizational consultant for over ten years. Prior to starting his own practice, he was a manager and leader in a number of large organizations for over two decades. His specialty was building new units and re-tooling existing units to perform new functions. He has designed and delivered large-scale leadership development programs in a number of organizations. 

During one phase of his career, Frank directed all management training and executive development at the Central Intelligence Agency. More recently he was a member of the management team of a privately held distance learning company that successfully raised $10,000,000 in its first round of external financing. Frank is a member of the Board of Directors of American Public Education, Inc. and the Board of Trustees of the American Public University System.

Frank has coached executives and managers in a wide variety of organizations in the public, private, and non-profit sectors. He developed the coaching component of the Certified Public Manager Certificate Program jointly offered by the USDA Graduate School and George Washington University. He has worked with Alphametals, Inc., Arlington County (VA) government, American Management Systems, Booz-Allen & Hamilton, Charles E. Smith Real Estate Company, the Chemical Manufacturers Association, State Farm Insurance, the MITRE Institute, i2inc, and the World Bank. Recently Frank participated in a 360 degree feedback process for 189 senior managers at the National Security Agency. Other Federal clients include the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Central Intelligence Agency, the National Institute of Health, the Environmental Protection Agency, and NASA.

Frank received a BA in Economics from Davidson College, an MS in Financial Management from George Washington University, and a certificate in Organization Development from Georgetown University. His formal preparation as a coach includes completion of the year-long Professional Coaching Course presented by New Ventures West and shorter, focused sessions presented by the Newfield Network and the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland. He was designated a Professional Certified Coach by the International Coach Federation in February 1999 and recertified in 2003. He holds a current Top Secret/SCI security clearance issued by the Federal Government.

Frank is currently a faculty member and Learning Circle Coach in the Leadership Coaching Certificate Program presented by Georgetown University. He has published two articles on Executive Coaching in Federal Times and made a presentation entitled "Coaching for Executive Development" at the annual conference of the International Personnel Managers Association in San Francisco, CA during October 2000.
